Hello everyone! Welcome to this guide for those who want to draw another popular anime character. In this tutorial, we’ll break down the step-by-step process of drawing Megumi Fushiguro, a deuteragonist from Jujutsu Kaisen.
The tutorial consists of 23 steps, starting with a basic sketch to map out the proportions, pose, and facial placement of our character. This method ensures all the elements are correctly aligned before moving on to the details. So, get your drawing tools ready!
What to Focus On While Drawing Megumi Fushiguro
Before we start, let’s discuss the key aspects to focus on while drawing Megumi. Paying attention to these details will help you capture his appearance and personality accurately.
Hair: Megumi’s spiky black hair is one of his most distinctive features, resembling a sea-urchin with sharp, uneven spikes pointing in different directions.
Face: His neutral, serious facial expression reflects his calm and calculating personality. Don’t forget to include the slight slant in his eyes.
Outfit: The dark blue Jujutsu High uniform with its structured jacket and cropped pants is a key element of his design.
Weapon: Megumi is often depicted holding a large ceremonial sword, which adds a dynamic element to his pose.
Pose and Proportions: Megumi has a slim yet strong build, with a confident stance that reflects his role as a skilled jujutsu sorcerer.
Keep these details in mind as you follow the steps to draw him!

How Is The Guide Structured
This tutorial uses a color-coding system to help you follow along easily:
Red Color: Marks the lines or shapes you’re adding in the current step.
Black Color: Represents the completed portions of the drawing.
Grey Color: Shows the initial sketch framework.
This method simplifies the process, especially when working on complex features like Megumi’s facial features and uniform details.
Step 1: Start by drawing a circle to serve as the base for Megumi’s face. Inside the circle, add one vertical and one horizontal line to center the face and indicate the direction of his gaze. Below the circle, sketch the shape of his chin and jawline. Beneath this base, draw a simple stick figure to map out the character’s pose and ensure proper proportions. The stick figure should include a spine line, a shoulder line, and connection points at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. Follow the proportions shown in the reference image.
Step 2: Next, use simple lines to outline the general shape of Megumi’s body. Start by sketching his high collar, a key feature of his outfit. Then, lightly draw the outlines of his torso, arms, hands, legs, and sword. Use soft pencil strokes to keep the sketch easy to adjust and erase later as you refine the overall drawing.
Step 3: In this step, draw the upper edge of Megumi’s high collar, as it partially covers his chin. Above this line, based on the base sketch from Step 1, draw the lower half of the character’s face outline.
Step 4: In this step, draw the hairline at Megumi’s forehead, framing the upper part of his face.
Step 5: In this step, outline Megumi’s ears on either side of his head. At the bottom of the circle, where the vertical guideline crosses, draw a short horizontal line for his mouth. Use simple lines to add his nose and the upper and lower eyelid lines for his eyes.
Step 6: In this step, add the inner details of Megumi’s ears using curved lines. Next, draw small black-filled semicircles for his eyes. Above the eyes, add short strokes for additional details, and to the right of his right eye, draw a small line to define the contour of his face. Don’t forget to sketch Megumi’s eyebrows with simple lines.
Step 7: Add the general outline of Megumi’s spiky hairstyle, creating his signature sharp, uneven spikes. Draw his neck, partially covered by his high collar, and include a line on the right side of the collar to show its division.
Step 8: Complete the outline of the collar by adding the remaining lines to define its full shape.
Step 9: Using the base sketch from Step 2, draw Megumi’s shoulders. Since his jacket overlaps slightly, sketch the left side of the jacket extending from the collar. Leave the right side for the next step, where we will refine the outline further.
Step 10: Complete the outline of the right side of Megumi’s jacket that was left unfinished in the previous step. Additionally, add the inner line of the sleeve on the arm on the right side, extending down to the elbow.
Step 11: Using the base sketch, outline the sleeves of Megumi’s jacket. These lines don’t need to be perfectly straight—add slight irregularities to show natural folds in the fabric.
Step 12: In this step, draw Megumi’s pants down to the knee level. Add slight curves to the lines around the knees to depict natural folds in the fabric.
Step 13: Complete the outline of Megumi’s pants, finishing their full shape.
Step 14: Draw the section of Megumi’s legs visible between the pants and his shoes, and outline the upper part of his shoes.
Step 15: Outline the overall shape of Megumi’s shoes, leaving some space at the bottom for the soles, which will be drawn in the next step.
Step 16: Draw the soles of Megumi’s shoes, and complete the footwear details.
Step 17: In this step, begin drawing the left hand, which is not holding the sword. Sketch the wrist and the part of the hand near the thumb. Then, draw the thumb and the index finger to start forming the hand’s structure.
Step 18: Finish drawing the left hand by adding the remaining fingers and refining the hand’s overall shape. Also, include the back side of the sleeve behind the hand for added detail.
Step 19: In this step, draw Megumi’s right arm and part of the handle of his weapon, focusing on the hand’s grip.
Step 20: Outline the sword, including the blade and the base of the hilt, to define its shape.
Step 21: Draw the part of the sword handle that is partially visible behind the sleeve. At the base of the sword, sketch the wrapped section, with overlapping lines to show the binding. Along the edge of the blade near the leg, add lines to indicate the sharp edge of the sword.
Step 22: In this step, add small details to enhance the overall drawing. Sketch two buttons—one on the collar and the other on the upper part of Megumi’s jacket. On the hands, draw lines along the outer parts of the hands for additional detail.
Step 23: At this stage, we have completed the overall drawing of Megumi. The sketch is ready, and you should carefully erase the base sketch from the first two steps. If needed, clean up any unnecessary lines or add missing details. Optionally, you can try outlining the drawing with a pen or ink. To do this, trace over the completed sketch, let the ink dry fully, and then erase all pencil lines. This will give you a clean and finalized drawing.
This guide does not include a colored reference, so we will stop here. However, you can use this sketch as a coloring page by saving and printing the image on paper.
