The Frog Says Hi: Ribbit’s Waving Pose Drawing From TADC

There is already a Ribbit tutorial on the site, but this one captures a different moment. This time we tackle how to draw Ribbit waving, showing the frog mid-wave with her mouth open in that signature cheerful expression seen in The Amazing Digital Circus flashback photos.

A New Take on TADC’s Frog

This tutorial runs through 17 images total, with the final one being the fully colored result. The dynamic pose here makes the drawing trickier than a standing version since the weight distribution, bent legs, and outstretched arm all need to feel balanced. The steps build up from a loose construction sketch to the final linework, layering on details like the open mouth, bow tie, and three-toed feet as you go.

Ribbit’s Visual Details to Nail

  • Green skin with light green chest patch
  • Pie-slice cut black eyes with lashes
  • Pink round blush marks on cheeks
  • Wide open mouth showing tongue
  • Pink bow tie around the neck
  • Long frog legs with three-toed feet

The first Ribbit tutorial on the site covers a different pose entirely, so drawing both gives you two angles on the same character. Her close friend Kaufmo makes a natural pair, and Jax rounds out the trio they were always seen with.

Following the Color System

Each step uses three line colors so you always know what to draw next:

  • Red Color: lines added in the current step.
  • Black Color: lines completed earlier.
  • Gray Color: base sketch for structure.
