How to draw Lucario pokemon

Welcome to your next artistic challenge! We’ll be guiding you through the process of sketching Lucario, a majestic Fighting/Steel-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. Known for its dog/wolf/jackal-like appearance and sharp, pointed spikes, Lucario is an iconic figure in the Pokémon universe. With our 14-step guide, you’ll soon master drawing this enigmatic Aura Pokémon.

The Aura of Art: Lucario’s Appearance and Key Focus Points

Lucario, with its unique combination of dog, wolf, and jackal features, is an interesting character to draw. Here are some key points you should focus on when sketching:

  • Red Eyes: Lucario is renowned for its piercing, red eyes which add an intense aura to its personality.
  • Spikes: Large, pointed spikes are a significant characteristic, especially those present on its hands and chest.
  • Muzzle and Ears: Longer in comparison to its pre-evolution form, Riolu, Lucario’s ears and muzzle bring forth its wolf-like nature.
  • Black Mask: This feature, including an upper stripe, intensifies Lucario’s intimidating look.
  • Yellow Fur on Torso: Lucario’s torso is covered in yellow fur, with thicker patches forming a collar-like appearance.

About the Guide: Unraveling the Artistic Process

This guide is organized into 14 steps, which will help you sketch Lucario gradually. The first 2 steps are dedicated to creating a basic sketch, laying down the proportions with light pencil strokes. As we progress through the steps, we will add more details and depth.

We have a color-coded system to facilitate your understanding:

  • Red Color: Represents the lines you should be focusing on in the current step.
  • Grey Color: This shows the basic sketch or proportion guidelines from the initial steps.
  • Black Color: Showcases the lines you have previously drawn, aiding in your progress.

After mastering Lucario, you may wish to expand your Pokémon sketch repertoire. You could consider related characters such as Riolu, Lucario’s pre-evolved form, or other Fighting-type Pokémon like Machamp and Heracross. Why not try sketching Ash, the protagonist of the Pokémon series, accompanied by his loyal Pikachu?

    • In most guides the first picture or the first two are about making the basic sketch. You should use a barely noticeable pencil for it. The red lines and shapes in each step indicate what needs to be drawn next. Usually a black/grey drawing pencil or any marker or pen is used. You should use the same color at all stages until the last one, when you will already need to color the Pokemon
