How to Draw Rangiku Matsumoto, The 10th Division’s Lieutenant

The 10th Division’s lieutenant has made it into the Rebirth of Souls game roster, and now she gets her own drawing tutorial. This guide covers how to draw Rangiku Matsumoto, the laid-back Shinigami who serves under Captain Hitsugaya in Bleach.

Sketching the Soul Society’s Laziest Lieutenant

The full tutorial runs 20 steps, with the last image showing the colored result. Rangiku’s design has a lot of flowing fabric and hair working together, so the early construction steps focus on getting the body proportions locked in before all those loose robes and waves of hair start layering on top. Taking the time to get the base structure right pays off once the details pile up.

Rangiku’s Design in Rebirth of Souls

  • Long wavy blonde hair past the waist
  • Blue eyes and beauty mark below lips
  • Loose black shihakusho with open neckline
  • Pink scarf draped over shoulders
  • Lieutenant armband on the sash
  • Zanpakuto held across the body

Rangiku’s captain is already on the site if you want to draw the pair together. Check out Toshiro Hitsugaya’s face for that one. Another Bleach game character worth sketching is Sui-Feng from Rebirth of Souls, and for a villain perspective, Aizen’s face is always a solid pick.

Understanding the Color System

Every step uses three line colors to keep things clear:

  • Red Color: lines added in the current step.
  • Black Color: lines completed earlier.
  • Gray Color: base sketch for structure.
