How to Draw Pandaba the Rap-Loving Panda from Sanrio

This guide walks through how to draw Pandaba full body in 10 steps. Pandaba is Sanrio’s giant panda girl from Iwayama in China, known for her love of rap music and her habit of ending sentences with “~daba”. The design is very simple and bold: big panda markings, a flat expression and a short frilly skirt.

Recognizing Pandaba’s Look

  • Large round head with panda ears
  • Dark eye patches with half-closed eyes
  • Tiny oval nose and small mouth
  • Rounded body with simple limbs
  • Short red frilly skirt around the waist
  • Mostly black-and-white color scheme with one strong red accent

After finishing this Pandaba drawing, a nice follow-up is to sketch Hana-Maru, Monkichi or even Badtz-Maru, building a small group of Sanrio characters that share the same bold lines but each show a different attitude and silhouette. And don’t forget to check My Melody guide posted yesterday.
