Welcome, Pokémon artists! Today we dive into the world of Noivern, a Flying/Dragon-type Pokémon known for its intimidating yet majestic appearance. Introduced in Generation VI, this dragon-like creature is a fascinating subject for all sketch enthusiasts. Grab your pencil, because we’re about to bring this nocturnal creature to life!
Deciphering Noivern: Key Features to Sketch
Noivern, with its large, bat-like silhouette and draconian traits, poses a delightful challenge to sketch. Its primary characteristics are:
- Large, black and purple wings tipped with claw-like protrusions.
- Green, thin flaps of skin connecting the body to its wings.
- A fluffy, white collar of fur encircling its neck.
- Piercing yellow eyes and a black, pointed mouth.
- Large, rounded ears resembling loudspeakers with green insides.
Feel free to add other Pokémon to your artwork for a dynamic composition. The fearsome Dragonite or the electric-type Pikachu would make excellent companions. Both are different yet intriguing subjects that can complement Noivern’s majestic appearance.
Understanding the Drawing Guide
Our guide follows a specific color coding system. Here’s what each color means:
Red Color: Represents the current step you should be focusing on.
Black Color: Showcases the lines you’ve previously drawn.
Grey Color: Illustrates the basic sketch you’ve initially laid out.
The guide has a total of 31 steps, with the first three devoted to creating a proportionate, basic sketch. Use light strokes initially; we’re just establishing the structure here. In the final step, you can ink your sketch. Remember to let the ink dry before gently erasing the pencil lines. This prevents smudging and keeps your artwork crisp and clean.

That covers how to draw Noivern Pokemon, from those big circular ears down to the wing membranes and the rest of its bat-like build. If you want to keep up with new guides as they drop, the email signup at the top of the page sends a weekly roundup, and video versions of some guides appear on the SketchOk YouTube channel if you prefer following along that way.
