Learn How to Draw Ikoma in Kabaneri Form Step-by-Step

It’s time for a new anime drawing category on SketchOk. This guide will show you how to draw Ikoma from Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress in his Kabaneri form. His design is one of those that’s packed with gear and torn fabric details, so there’s a lot to line up if you want it to look clean. Most of the challenge here is setting up the right posture and fitting all the layers of armor, belts, and torn pants without getting lost in it.

Important Features to Focus on for Ikoma

  • Short messy hair with part of the bangs turning white over the right eye.
  • Pale skin with small scar-like marks around the body.
  • Mechanical harness bolted across the right shoulder and chest area.
  • Loose and damaged pants with torn edges around the knees and cuffs.
  • Footwear is simple open-toe sandals tied with basic straps.
  • Facial expression looks worn out but focused, slightly frowning.

If you’re putting Ikoma together and want a few more designs after, you could also try Mumei or Kurusu next. They both fit into the same world and have strong armor-based outfits to practice with too. I’ll make sure to create guides for them soon as well.

How the Drawing Breakdown Works

The guide is organized using a simple color-based system to make it easy to track:

  • Red Color: current lines you need to draw
  • Black Color: the lines you’ve already finished
  • Grey Color: the basic structure sketch underneath everything

The process starts with building Ikoma’s basic standing pose, and then moves into detailing his head, body, the harness, armor plates, and torn clothing. After that, smaller details and features come in toward the end to finish it off right.
